L’eclair de Genie is a shop that specialises in eclairs in Paris and they mean serious business. The store is filled with cabinets of so many flavoured eclairs that look like a piece of art – just look at these beauties in the photos below!
The salted butter caramel eclair was filled with salted caramel mascapone cream that was the perfect balance but a little rich on the side. I was most impressed with the choux pastry that held it’s structure and wasn’t soggy at all (the last eclair I had in Adelaide was soggy).
Caramel Beurre Salé (€5)
The passion framboise eclair looked so pretty being topped with a passionfruit glaze and dotted with raspberries but what made it delicious was the complex flavours of both the passionfruit and raspberry coming through. I can’t forget the thick, creamy passionfruit filling with it’s acidic touch that cut through the sweetness – fruits and sweet things are the perfect pairing. I found this eclair to be better than the salted butter caramel as it wasn’t too rich for me.
Passion Framboise (€5.50)
At around €5 ($7.50 AUD) for a 11 cm eclair it’s a steep price for something that didn’t leave me swooning in my chair. It wasn’t bad but I may need to try a few more flavours and eclairs before listening to the peeps that shout that this is the best eclair in Paris.

GOOD GOD ECLAIRS!!! Wish I could try every single flavour
Haha I know but many empty pockets later! I was throwing all my money at Pierre Herme – I try to not think about how much I spent even now :P
Love the colours! Yes, a bit pricey and thanks for your honest opinion. But most of all, thank you for letting us take a peek at this area in Paris :)

Thanks for stopping by and the kind words! Paris is one of a kind and I wish I had more time to explore and eat more desserts – though I think it would take a few years for me to eat all the desserts I wanted XD
