Sad:Cafe, Adelaide

I’m just gonna say what everyone is thinking – all brunches and cafes should be run by hipsters because they know what they are doing. Sad:Café is a vegetarian and hipsters paradise with everything around the $10 mark.

Sad Cafe Coffee

Bitter capsicum salsa, tomato chutney and hummus covered in melted mozzarella cheese that was squished between toasted Turkish bread. The pumpkin and carrot patty didn’t really tickle my fancy but it’s probably because I’m not a pumpkin fan.

Pumpkin and Mozzarella Turkish Roll

Grilled Pumpkin and Mozzarella Melt ($10) – pumpkin and carrot patty topped with mozzarella cheese, served on a Turkish roll with corn and capsicum salsa, tomato chutney and hummus

Maybe mushroom based vegetarian dishes are the way to go as it is the closest thing to meat :P Fresh flavours from the bitter rocket, feta cheese and a lovely aioli sauce.

Sad Cafe Grilled Mushroom Pocket Pita

Grilled Mushroom Pocket Pita ($10) – served with rocket, tomato chutney, feta cheese and capsicum dressed in spicy aioli

Some hits and misses but not a bad café at such cheap prices – would get the mushroom pita again.

That’s a mouthful of pita filling! Too bad the neat looking sandwich didn’t get the thumbs up sign from you.
