I know I know it is the greatest shame of all. Growing up in Adelaide I don’t really venture or eat at the Central Markets. Blasphemy. Deciding I needed to start making a change I hawk eyed my way onto a seat at the ever busy Big Table ;)
The special at the time was an oh so delicious sounding French toast combo of maple syrup, mascarpone, almonds, peaches. The crunchy outside of the French toast still had a soft and fluffy as a bunny inside. Served with sweet fresh peaches and maple syrup but what really brought it together was the creamy mascarpone. I should have only ordered half as this was such a huge serving.
French toast with maple syrup, mascarpone, almonds, peaches – special at the time ($14.90)
For me scrambled eggs need to be perfect otherwise why would I bother ordering one when I could make it myself at home (even if it’s crapper)? Although I really loved the flavour combination of the fresh bursts of coriander and the spicy kick from the chilli, the scrambled eggs itself were rubbery and a bit overdone.
Scrambled eggs with coriander and chilli ($12)
Coffee art shot!
Cappuccino ($3.60)
It’s a nice joint and I really wished I loved it more but I don’t think I can be bothered to fight the crowds again for a seat.
Food: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Atmosphere: 3/5 – nice market vibe but prob not the best place to catch up with friends
