Jenny’s Bakery, Eastwood

Finally taking the jump onto the crazy train to see what this cronut craze is all about. When someone told me a cronut is like the baby of a donut and croissant I was secretly praying it’ll be something cool like a liger. C choose the hazelnut cronut – hazelnut sprinkled on top with hazelnut cream spread thickly in the middle. First bite and I liked it :)

How irresistibly pretty is the salted caramel popcorn cronut? The cronut itself had the texture of a very fluffy donut (a lot more like donut than croissant imo). It could easily be mistaken for something savoury save for the fact that it was dusted with icing sugar with thick buttery cream smeared in the middle – a heart attack in the making. All in all, the cronut was quite tasty with it’s lovely fluffiness, basically tasting like a donut layered with cream. I actually had to give up on the last quarter because the cream got too heavy.

Give Jenny’s Bakery a spin if you want to know what a cronut tastes like – though be warned they do sell out by lunchtime/just after D:

Cronuts aren’t half bad are they? I tried them whilst I was on Uni holidays, and for a couple of weeks, I was visiting the bakery every couple of days. You can imagine that my purse is feeling a lot lighter….
