Lemon Tart

Hello you beauty – I finally found some time to visit By Blackbird during a spontaneous Sunday afternoon. I actually wanted to try the Winter’s Delight but it was only served on Friday and Saturday nights as a dessert special. Never fear, I decided on the Lemon Tart and boy was this delicious. The pastry was so soft and crumbly with a bit of chewy jam (?) at the bottom to add some sweetness. The creamy, sweet filling with a sour lemon flavour was absolutely a stunner – loved it to the point I used my spoon to try scoop up any bit of residue that I had missed.

Hmm, I guess I have no choice now but to go back to By Blackbird to try out their Winter’s Delight ;) Besides this slice of heavenly lemon tart, the service was extremely lovely and friendly. They left such a huge impression on me – they actually tried to strike up a conversation (this has never happened to me before in an Adelaide restaurant. EVER). It actually shocked me and left me a bit speechless as I was not expecting this. I’ll definitely be returning back so I guess there is no excuse for you to not go.

    Konnichiwa! Just wanted to say we have the Winter Delight back but only for this Friday & Saturday night (26-27 July 2013). Hope you can drop by and give it try :)
