In this day and age as prices soar and competition rises, it gets harder and harder to judge whether you really get your value for money. No matter where you go it seems that Asian places truly give you the best deals. At Mamak’s the dinner meal set for 2 people was $30 and you get *get ready for it*: 2x curries, 1x roti carnti, 2x serves of fried chicken and 2x teh o ais limau (iced lemon tea). There is seriously no catch – tasted amazing, huge servings where I couldn’t even finish my curry D:
Let’s start off with the roti canai – my favourite Malaysian food! Roti canai is a savoury Indian flat bread – so fluffy and crispy. It comes with two dipping sauces (not sure what they are but one of them has fish in it so watch out). I love the contrast between the savoury and sweet flavours when the flaky roti was dipped into the curry and sugar, yumm.
I got the chicken curry and I really liked it, it was a sweet curry with tender chicken pieces. C got the lamb curry which for me was more salty and not sweet at all, still tasted good but I prefer my chicken curry and C preferred his lamb curry. I guess we made the right choices.
The fried chicken was tender, juicy, and not very oily. It was really interesting though because it looked like chicken but there were no bones on the inside. Yay for less fiddling.

Mamak Corner is a definite must try. Tasted amazing at a very very reasonable price – hard to find fault here. The service was pretty good as well because when I got the roti, we made sure that the fish sauce one was not included. The waiter and staff were very understanding about it :)
