Cocolat Round 2 (unwillingly), Adelaide

“If I ever open a restaurant, please don’t review it” was what one of my good friends said to me, thanks T but I think this post isn’t actually gonna do me any justice. Firstly, I am appalled at the state of brunch places not opened on a Sunday. T came back from interstate and we tried 3 places but to no avail, they were all closed. T wanted to go to Cocolat and how could I say no to this dear friend of mine? That was how I ended up at Cocolat again, one day after posting my first Cocolat post up. Awkward.

The waffles were weird, the flavours do not go together at all. Cinnamon, honey and strawberries wtf? It is so sickly sweet, waffles were crunchy but on the mushy side. Awful tasting thing, just ew. The only plus was adding an extra $2.50 gelati with any dessert (I can’t believe I missed this last time). The gelato in the picture is honeycomb gelato, again amazing gelato but way too early for sweets in the morning. Our table also got some croissants, which were burnt. Very unimpressed because they would only be reheating it up and not making it from scratch, is it that hard to reheat stuff and not burn it?

Appalling and completely rude service. A waiter came over saying some other dark chocolate drink that no one said they ordered. One of my friends then said she ordered the Cocolat hot chocolate and the waiter had the audacity to say “yeah it’s that” and ditch it on our table. Excuse me but I’m very sure we knew what we ordered :/

Cocolat Hot Chocolate and White Hot Chocolate

Cocolat Hot Chocolate (Small $4.80) and White Hot Chocolate (Large $6.30)

I don’t understand how this place is even popular, the only thing they got going for them is the gelato. Expensive, over-rated with very poor service, that is all.

Food: 1/5

heyyy I have tried royal copenhagen before, both in Glenelg and Henley Beach :) Haven’t been for such a long time though, used to ride to the beach when I was in high school. They give such massive icecream servings ^_^
