Like the name suggests, everything is made without egg. I really couldn’t tell because cake tasted like cake. They change all their dishes monthly which is a great way for customers to not get tired of the same thing. I really enjoyed my first time at Eggless but it went downhill from there. My first visit was during the month when they let the customers vote for their favourites to be on the menu, which would explain why everything tasted so good.
I got the sampler plater and everything on this plate was so delicious. I was really impressed by the passionfruit and lychee panna cotta, it was so smooth and creamy. It is still one of the best panna cotta’s I’ve ever tasted. I was a bit sceptical about the banana puffs but yummm, it wasn’t like anything I expected. It tasted a bit like deep fried banana cake. I don’t have a complaint in the world about this.

The green tea tiramisu felt more like a savory dish for me (my sugar radar is probably off the chart) as the green tea flavour was quite subtle. I felt it was more like a cake with just cream in it.

Eggless made a very strong first impression for me and I became a fan. On my second visit I tried the mocha cheesecake and another panna cotta. The mocha cheesecake was really nice but way too rich for me. Baby steps
After being so impressed by the panna cotta from my first visit, I decided to try the new one. Hmm, how do I put this gently, it tasted like a flower/plant (not in a good way). The panna cotta itself was great but teamed with the sauce, urgh. I couldn’t even finish this dessert, I’m no Homer who eats tulips in secret.

Okay second visit was a hit and a miss, we’re still doing good here. So here comes my third visit where I recommended it for a girl’s night out. I chose the apricot and vanilla bean panna cotta as there were no signs of some flowery flavour in it. Tasted good but it still did not beat the first time I went. The portions were also smaller but you still had to pay the same price. I also tried the tiramisu and it was way too dry, did not like this but was better than the other ones I am going to mention soon.

I kept seeing all these cute desserts that our table didn’t order, which was why I decided to venture back to Eggless again to try these pretty little things.
Strawberry and Apple Pie
Pretty aye? This was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten. It felt like I was eating very bland jam. If I wanted to eat jam, I would stay at home and eat it out of a jar.
I don’t remember this being too bad but it might have been because anything would have tasted better compared to the strawberry and apple pie.
After half a year of trying to repress that horrible experience, I decided to go back again (I don’t even know why anymore). I did find something I truly loved – the honey and pomegranate creme brulee, so smooth and such great flavours. I got the tasting platter so before I actually found this, I had to go through 3 other below par desserts. The presentation was so bad that I didn’t even bother taking out my camera.
This was my limit. I couldn’t put myself through that pain again, going through dish after dish that I hated just to find that one. When they get it right, they go above and beyond expectations but I am not wasting anymore time and money. I’ve never been back since but if I can be bothered (unlikely) I may go when the customer’s get to choose the menu again.
